Objective

PoppyIt (initially called BeautySeat) is a Web Application designed to operate as a platform for beauty salons. The platform allows beauty salons to register for a profile with PoppyIt which will include their business details, location, hours of operation, images and a list of services provided.

The main goal of this application is to allow customers to sign up for a client account and book an appointment with the salons’ through PoppyIt.

Scope

The project was divided into three main sections based on the three types of user roles, namely:

  • Clients
  • Vendors
  • Administrators

Clients are able to search through the available vendors on the website, view their business information and go through their list of services. They can eventually sign up for a profile and book an appointment with a salon through poppy. And, finally the clients are charged through PoppyIt.

A vendor account is created by an administrator user. Once the account activated the vendor can have access to the vendor dashboard where they can manage their profile details, and view a list of appointments booked with them through the platform.

Administrator dashboard provides a different set of functionalities to help administer the website. They can create/remove administrator accounts, manage vendor accounts, view a list of signed up clients and finally have access to a complete list of appointments booked through their platform.

Limitations

The main limitation of the application is that it currently depends on the Booker API and not having it’s own booking system means that only vendors that have a Booker account can register with PoppyIt.
